On May 16, 2024, MassChallenge convened a meeting of the NATO Defense Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA), which marked a significant milestone in fostering groundbreaking dual-use technologies across the NATO alliance.
The program’s curriculum leaned on the MIT dual-use framework — a system for startups and ventures navigating the complexities of both the commercial and mission markets. Out of a competitive pool of over 1,300 applications, 44 promising startups were selected to participate, each bringing innovative solutions to the forefront. MassChallenge’s unwavering commitment to dual-use technology — capable of serving both commercial and governmental purposes — reflects a broad and impactful vision that resonates with NATO DIANA’s mission to modernize and innovate within various sectors including aerospace, biotechnology, defense, energy, healthcare, sustainability, and transportation.
